The Dionysian Devide

“The Dionysian Divide” explores the tension between ecstasy and restraint, inspired by Greek vase painting. Classical figures ground the scene, while a golden figure of surrender and a turquoise figure of reflection bring it into a contemporary context. Extended into a poster format, symbolic details like XI / II and the question “Which side will you choose?” invite the viewer to engage. The project shows how concept-driven illustration can work across editorial, cultural, and spatial contexts, encouraging reflection on the balance between impulse and control.
